The History of the Bat-suit!

Check this out; it is a picture personally drawn out by Benjamin Moore. This picture has every Bat-suit that goes from the start of Batman in 1939 to now. Moore has drawn every little change in the suit that has appeared before our eyes in either a comic book, movie, or T.V. series! It's very impressive considering I don't believe anyone has done it before. Read more HERE!

Red Hood and the Outlaws #1 and #2 - Review

Through out the past year Jason Todd has had a lot of hype and popularity mainly because of the release of DC Universes last original animated movie, Batman: Under the Red Hood! Jason Todd was killed by the Joker and then mysteriously brought back to life with no soul but then Talia found him and submerged him in the Lazarus pool. The effects did something to Jason and so he trained to become an elite assassin initially to set out on revenging his own death by killing the Joker! This is the story told in the movie while some of it was twisted a little, this was the first movie to really get into great detail on Jason Todd and I loved the movie. The graphic novel based on the movie gets into even more detail and is another book that I recommend reading before picking up this comic series.

The comic book was fantastic besides a few exceptions. Judd Winick gets the chance to start a completely new world and introduce a life beyond revenge to the Joker for Jason Todd. He does a great job on the beginning by introducing us to the characters by throwing us in the middle of a rescue that involves a complete foreign army. Roy Harper is a little crazy and Jason explains his position with humor and a sarcastic tone, which is exactly what I was looking for. The only thing that I wanted to see was that they would get Jason's personality correct and I can give them a ten on that. The beginning is basically Roy, Jason, and eventually Starfire kicking some ass against a complete armory of people and guns. The comic ends with Jason talking to a thing named Essence and she brings up several interesting murders and how they are related to The All Caste and The Untitled are behind it. This whole situation is very confusing and mysterious and it brings the reader in wanting more and especially wanting answers. The book ends with Jason walking up to an old women and saying that he should have never left and that she shouldn't have let him then he turns around to many people pointing weapons at him. The writing was great and the story was definitely something new to offer and as always it kept my interest going.

Last I want to talk about the art, which was done by Kenneth Rocafort and he did a wonderful job. The expressions and body movement was exactly right to the text although I had a problem with the fact that not all the space on some of the pages was used as if they wanted to drag the context out to push more issues. I hope this doesn't lead to a boring outcome in future issues but with the ending of comic issue 2 I doubt that is going to happen. I really liked how he drew Jason in his costume, it looked great and his costume had more detail then I noticed in previous movies and books. Scott and Kenneth put together a tasteful first issue of a new story with new characters and pulled me in so I would definitely recommend this series to others!

The second issue had just as much to offer but with a little more of an explanation on Jason's history which in a way completed the the first issue but yet left so many more questions to answer. Judd throws in a little bit of different history then I'm used to which is how Jason was trained to become an elite assassin and that is by the fact that Talia took him to The All Caste and that they trained him. I'm used to knowing that Jason used a bunch of different people across the world to train him and then he combined the skills to take back Gotham from Batman, Black Mask, and the Joker. That about sums up the second issue other then at the end we see that Roy and Starfire help Jason completely obliterate all the men with weapons.

Both issues were great and I can't wait for the next issues to be released. The story is very promising and the art goes along just nicely!!

Batman #1 - Review

The reboot of DC Comics 52 has gotten me incredibly excited and in the past couple of weeks there has been some good first issues and some of them include the Batman universe related comics. The release of Batman #1 is the comic that I have really been looking forward too and it's not because of the whole issue 1 ordeal, it is because Scott Snyder was assigned to this series and I'm a big fan of his past work. Greg Capullo is assigned to the art of the comic and I have to admit that I'm to familiar with any of this guy's past work so therefor I wasn't looking forward to the art but only to see what Snyder has in store for the storyline!

Arkham City Addiction!!

I have been playing the new Batman video game, Arkham City and I haven't dropped the controller from the moment I started playing it! This is game is amazing and incredibly fun. If you are a Batman fan then this game would make you feel as if you were living his life and viewing Gotham City through his eyes. One of the main reasons on why I'm incredibly impressed with it is that when you start playing you really believe that you are Gotham's Dark Knight and that what you do will make a difference and that's mainly why I can't stop playing it! If you get the chance go pick up this game I guarantee that you will enjoy it! This game is a solid 10! If you would like to hear more on what comes with the game and and a little on the strategy guide then you should try to check TheFuriousFanCast Podcast on iTunes or at Furiousfanboys.com!!!

Random Picture

I thought that this was pretty funny!

Batman: Arkham City Collectors Edition

BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY

Gotham City's Free Range Prison

One year after the events of Arkham Asylum, the plans that the Dark Knight found in a secret room in the series' previous title have come to fruition…
Former warden of the asylum – Quincy Sharpe – has taken the credit for stopping the Joker in his tracks and has used his notoriety to take the role of the mayor of Gotham City. Neither Arkham nor Blackgate Penitentiary have the capacity to house law-breakers and so Sharpe has transformed a slum area of the city, with military guarded perimeters to create Arkham City; a new home for the city's most notorious hoodlums and insane criminal masterminds. The villains contained have been granted free reign within the enclosure, on the condition that they do not attempt to escape.
As Batman however, you know it is unlikely that these adversaries will behave themselves and so you keep a keen eye over Gotham. Turns out this was a wise decision as you stumble across their plans – lead by Two-Face – to publically execute your love-hate foe that is Catwoman. There is only one way you can put a stop to these evil proceedings…it is time to enter Arkham City!

The Ultimate Batman Experience

  • Explore Arkham City's virtual footprint – five times larger than that within Arkham Asylum – on foot or by soaring high above the skyline. The improved sandbox element adds to the experience without detracting players from immersing themselves in the role of the masked hero.
  • Two more gadgets in addition to the roster found in the previous game – enemy-confusing smoke bombs and a broadcast tracer to locate the sources of Bat-signals.
  • Play as the alluring, PVC-clad acrobatic-orientated Catwoman for the first time, using her claws, whips and bolas to take down enemies.
  • Use Batman's brain as well as his brawn by tackling cognitive sub-plot challenges from the Riddler, whose presence is more significant than ever.
Pre order Rocksteady Studio's Batman: Arkham City now to be one of the first to establish order to Gotham's criminal underbelly.

Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition

  • Custom Batman statue produced by Kotobukiya
  • Collectible art book
  • Early access to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns skin
  • Batman: Arkham City album from WaterTower Music including original songs by hit artists, available via digital redemption
  • Bonus DC Universe animated original movie, Batman: Gotham Knight
  • Four collectible cards

Batman: Year One

People are dedicating October the 18th to Batman because not only does the long awaited game, Batman: Arkham City come out but so does Frank Miller's, Batman: Year One animated movie! Batman: Year one is another origins movie that explains Bruce Wayne's past in depth and it explains his motives as to why he is Batman! If you have read any of Frank Miller's work on Batman then this movie should be great and if you haven't touched any of his work then I suggest you start there. Frank Miller's graphic novel, Batman: Year One has won a lot of awards and received fantastic reviews so I'm sure the movie will be incredibly successful! I honestly love the Batman animated movies and can't wait for this one to be released! Fasten your seat belt everyone because Tuesday the 18th is going to a fun filled Batman day! The movie was actually released on October the 11th for exclusive download only but the DVD and Blu-Ray copies won't be released till the 18th! If you would like to check out more content about this movie then visit this website: Batmanyearonemovie.com!

The DC Comics Reboot - BATWING #1

The DC reboot started off with a bang and along with that came plenty of reviews. Batwing originated from Batman Inc., which is a spin off from the return of Bruce Wayne. When Bruce Wayne returned to Gotham City, Dick Grayson was the current Batman and so as the two came together they came up with Batman Inc. where multiple Batmans can guard different countries. Batwing was put in charge of Africa and so once the reboot was thought Dc Comics decided to give Batwing his own series! Judd Winick is writing the story and frankly I think he's doing a good job. He is taking a brand new character and giving him a world for us to explore. The first issue puts us right in the middle of a major problem of Batwing's, which is a fight with MASSACRE! I like how Judd Winick starts the issue out with Batwing explaining who he is and what he is here for just as if Batman is explaining his motifs. Massacre is a perfect villain for the Batman universe because of his motives; here's a direct quote that Massacre says in issue 1, "All I need if for people to die." Their is no explanation for why Massacre wants this to happen just as their is no explanation for why the Joker acts the way he does. Batwing has never encountered a villain like him and so it looks as if he has met his match! The comic doesn't start off slow because you get throw into the middle of an awesome, bloody fight, and then the comic book rewinds to explain the past and what events lead to this point. The art is being done by Ben Oliver and I have to say that it's a new style to me but I like it. In a picture you have three levels of pictures and they are the front, middle, and back; Oliver only focuses on the front or the main point of the picture. The characters in the picture have great detail and awesome shading but the background is very bleak and plain. The detail's of the settings are very boring but Oliver does this on purpose so that we can focus on the main point of the picture. This art takes some getting used to but once you do you get hooked! Overall I like the new series and you can expect me to continue purchasing the monthly releases!

Batman Sinestro Corps Skin!

All the Batman fans are excited for the new Batman: Arkham City game to be released on October 18th and if you have the game pre-ordered then you should be receiving some extra downloadable content for in game play. DC Comic's amazing movie Green Lantern will be released this Friday on October 14th and for a limited time the Blu-Ray combo pack will come with a voucher for a downloadable Batman Sinestro Corps skin that can only be used for the PlayStation 3! If you would like the skin for the Xbox 360 then you should try to pre-order the collectors edition of Arkham City, which will feature the Sinestro skin along with over five other Batman skins! This skin is the featured costume from DC Comic's series "Sinestro Wars" crossover. I'm extremely excited for the skin and that the costume will look exactly the same as it did in the comic series and I am actually purchasing the collector's edition so I will have a chance to use this limited edition skin. If there is a local store nearby that is offering pre-orders of the collectors edition then I recommend taking advantage of it because of all the extra content that comes with it, I promise it will be worth it!

Batman Beyond!!

I finally attained a free day of no school, work, or any of those adult responsibilities and so I decided to spend it re-watching the first season of Batman Beyond! I picked it up at the local Wal-Mart for about 15 bucks and decided to take a day and watch a good bit of the episodes. I really miss this show and to be honest I don't understand why it was cancelled after only three seasons because it did really well while it was on the air. I checked out a few ratings on the internet and I couldn't find anything below an eight out of ten. One major attribute that I liked about this show was how the writers would take older villains from when Bruce Wayne was Batman and contribute their powers and characteristics and embed them in newer, futuristic villains.

In a couple of the episodes the writers would throw in a classic villain such as Bane or Mr. Freeze and show how much older they look or how depressed they are because of the negative effects of what they caused to happen to themselves. I rarely ever found anything that I didn't like about this show and if I did it was just a little dislike about a character or a certain setting. Batman Beyond made an impact on the Batman Universe with the t.v. show, and the different comic book series, and now that Batman: Arkham City is making the Batman Beyond costume an available download skin for playability in the story! One of my favorite Batman animated movies is Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker; this is a story about how much impact the Joker can make when Bruce is the retired Batman and Terry is the current while not knowing what the true Joker can do. This movie takes a twist and they did a really good job. I recommend you guys check the t.v. show and the film out, I promise it'll be worth your time! Thanks!

Star Wars Finatics!

A best friend of mine is obsessed with Star Wars just as I'm obsessed with Batman and so he made a blog to spread his ideas and love for the awesome series! I can ask him anything about Star Wars and expect an answer filled with more then I anticipated. He went to the last Star Wars Celebration and came back with a car full of awesome Star Wars stuff along with multiple autographs of the famous Star Wars characters. The blog that he made not only talks about Star Wars but also anything related to Science Fiction, which is right in my field of interests! The name of his blog is SciFinatic located at theotherluke.blogspot.com. If you have trouble with the link then go to the blogs that I follow; you should do the same because I'm sure you'll love the page!

The DC Comics Reboot - BATGIRL #1

I have a lot of little issues with the new Batgirl issue and possibly the whole idea of the series together. My major problem is that they didn't just start over with an all new Barbara Gordon, they continued from the previous issues especially from The Joker's: The Killing Joke. In The Killing Joke, Joker shoots Barbara Gordon in the spine and paralyzed her from the waist down to where she can no longer be Batgirl and instead becomes The Oracle and helps Batman as a computer genius. I don't like how the writer Gail Simone just throws us in the middle of Batgirl performing her first mission back from the wheelchair because I honestly didn't know where this was starting. DC said that new readers could jump into reading these new comics and not have to worry about catching up but in this issue if you didn't know about Barbara's past then you would be incredibly confused. The issue did have a few flash backs to help the reader understand but I don't believe it was enough considering all the details of the story. Barbara's personality was great and I like how there was an added fear of being shot in the spine. Adrian Syaf did a fantastic job on the art with vivid colors and dynamic panels to look at, these pictures added a new level to the story. I hope that in the future issues there is a little more explanation of Barbara's history and why she all of the sudden healed from being "permanently paralyzed!" I do like Batgirl and I'm glad she is back to her normal self again! Stay tuned for a review on issue 2! Thanks!

Additional Character on Batman: Arkham City

The following characters will be playable in either the challenge mode, the storyline, or both!!
BATMAN!! - I know the everyone knew Batman would be a playable character considering this is his world but I wanted to put this picture up to show all the skins that will be available in different ways once the game comes out! My personal favorite is the classic 90's animated Batman skin!

CATWOMAN!! - This character will be a playable character in the storyline!
ROBIN!! - This character will only be available in the challenge mode, additional skins will also be available with DLC!!
NIGHTWING!! - This character will be playable in the storyline!!

Batman: Arkham City

ONE WEEK!!
I can't wait for this beautiful game to be released on October 18th, which is one week from today!!
This is the sequel to the amazing Batman: Arkham Asylum. Arkham Asylum's story line was based on how the Joker took over the prison of the insane villains that made an impact on Gotham City. IGN gave Arkham Asylum a phenomenal 9.3 out of 10 so lets hope that Arkham City can follow up with a better score! Batman: Arkham City will have just about every villain that made a massive impact in any of the Batman universes such as The Joker, Mr. Freeze, Dr. Hugo Strange, Two Face, The Riddler, and many more! Rocksteady has also announced that Batman will not be the only playable character in the story, they said that Catwoman will have a few controllable levels in the story. Later on Rocksteady announced that Nightwing will also be a usable character in not only the challenge mode but also the story line as well. Downloadable content will be available once the game is released to gain additional skins for the characters such as Batman and Robin and their will also be additional challenge maps. This game is going to be huge with as much as 40 hours of playable content and over three available characters to use; I would say it is going to beat Batman: Arkham Asylum's review as best comic book game to ever be released. I added a video that goes over a little of what's going to be available in the game and it also explains a little about the game's storyline so ENJOY!! I hope you guys are just as excited as me!
